Despite government rejections that such an attack had ever been envisaged, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) ran drills in the years previous simulating the exact 9/11 plot:

It has been reported that similar drills also occurred on the morning of 9/11 itself, apparently confusing air traffic controllers, and were offered as one of the many excuses for military failures. Indeed, NORAD did not respond until 85 minutes after the initial impact. Standard operating procedure is to scramble jets the moment a plane leaves its course, a procedure already put into practice 67 times by the American military that year.

In response to the attacks on September 11, 2001, the FAA orders all planes out of the air. American and Canadian air traffic controllers face a difficult situation: how to safely re-route and land 6,500 planes carrying close to a million people. For individual air traffic controllers, the work is chaotic, intense, and deceptively simple: pick a new route for each flight; radio instructions to turn; listen for pilot confirmation; hold traffic to keep airways from overcrowding. From Cleveland, Ohio to Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, controllers on September 11 searched for alternate airports to land large jets as their traumatized colleagues return from breaktime having watched the attacks on TV.

There are 35 USAF bases within range

of the 9/11 flights, which included the

restricted airspace surrounding the Pentagon, Capitol Hill and the

White House. It is hard to believe that a military which possesses such a highly-sophisticated radar system would not

have been able to track the highjacked aircraft without a transponder signal.



One explanation offered was that the terrorists turned off the electronic device known as a transponder, which helps

 identify aircraft on radar. As stated by the 9/11 Commission, it is possible, though

more difficult, to track an aircraft by its primary radar returns without the transponder.

 However, unlike transponder data -

Primary Radar Returns do not show

the aircraft’s identity and altitude.

Most people don’t realize that on September 11th, planes were known to be high jacked and flying around the Eastern US for over 70 minutes. After September 11th, many wondered why our air force was unable to stop the high jacked aircraft, especially American Airlines Flight 77 which struck the Pentagon. American Airlines Flight 11 was high jacked at 8:14. By 8:25 Boston air traffic controllers confirmed that the flight was indeed high jacked and the aircraft struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46. At 9:03, United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower and at that time, the whole world knew that America was under attack. It was not until 9:37 that American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon.  ...

Although I said earlier we should resist the temptation to favor one witness statement over and above another, there is nonetheless one witness whose testimony I believe deserves particular mention. Actually this witness wasn't an eyewitness at all because she did not see the incident directly. Nevertheless her account is of particular significance because her exposure to the incident was not as a shocked and surprised observer. It took place within the context of her everyday professional work. Danielle O'Brien was on duty that day as an air traffic controller at Dulles Airport and tracked the approaching Flight 77 on radar as it entered Washington airspace. Of the incoming plane she reported to ABC News:

"The speed, the maneuverability, the way that he turned, we all thought in the radar room, all of us experienced air traffic controllers, that that was a military plane....And it went six, five, four. And I had it in my mouth to say, three, and all of a sudden the plane turned away. In the room, it was almost a sense of relief. This must be a fighter. This must be one of our guys sent in, scrambled to patrol our capital, and to protect our president, and we sat back in our chairs and breathed for just a second".

So while the overwhelming majority of eyewitnesses were convinced they saw a regular Boeing passenger jet, professional air traffic controllers were convinced they were tracking a military plane. If this puzzling contradiction is to be resolved we must turn our minds to the other evidence.

Why the Planes Were Not Intercepted on 9/11 – Article

The 9/11 Commission wrote in its report that – “On 9/11, the defense of U.S. airspace depended on close interaction between two federal agencies: the FAA and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).”

According to the Commission, this interaction began with air traffic controllers (ATCs) at the relevant regional FAA control centers, which on 9/11 included Boston, New York, Cleveland, and Indianapolis. In the event of a hijacking, these ATCs were expected to “notify their supervisors, who in turn would inform management all the way up to FAA headquarters. Headquarters had a hijack coordinator, who was the director of the FAA Office of Civil Aviation Security or his or her designate. “

The hijack coordinator would then “contact the Pentagon’s National Military Command Center (NMCC)” and “the NMCC would then seek approval from the Office of the Secretary of Defense to provide military assistance. If approval was given, the orders would be transmitted down NORAD’s chain of command [to the interceptor pilots].”

A dozen questions about Flight 77 and the Pentagon that might lead to justice, and one that won’t.


There are many questions to be answered about the events at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Here are a dozen such questions that, if answered, might help to bring about justice.


 * Exactly how was Flight 77 hijacked, considering, among other things, that the alleged hijackers were said to be identified as security risks (possibly linked to al Qaeda) when they tried to board, and were not physically imposing (all 5 and a half feet tall or less, and slender in build)?

 * H ow was the nation’s air defense system disabled on 9/11, and how could anything have hit the Pentagon approximately 80 minutes after the first plane was known to be hijacked?

  * Why was Dick Cheney tracking Flight 77?

  * Why were explosive experts, who had a history of covering-up the OKC bombing and have since been accused of obstructing other investigations, hired to write the FEMA report? (Mete Sozen and Paul Mlakar).

  * Why did the roof of the Pentagon collapse 30 minutes after impact, giving additional evidence for the use of explosives? Note: The use of explosives at the Pentagon seems to be in agreement with the use of a large plane, which would have had little penetrating power.
Why was AMEC, the company that had just finished refurbishing Wedge 1 of the Pentagon, hired to lead the clean-up effort at Ground Zero?

  * Why did the NTSB not make public reports on any of the planes as is the normal procedure?

  * Why did none of the planes squawk the hijack code?

  * Why was the official explanation for alleged phone calls made by Flight 77 passenger Barbara Olsen changed several times, and ultimately how could Ted Olsen’s story make any sense?

  * Why did high-ranking Pentagon officials cancel travel plans for the morning of September 11 “…apparently because of security concerns.”?

  * How could Hani Hanjour still have successfully piloted Flight 77 given his poor qualifications?

  * Why are those interested in The Pentagon not intently reviewing documents released by the FAA and 9/11 Commission that reveal startling questions about the aircraft and events of that day?

  * Why are these questions NOT being pursued by independent investigators? That’s because the attention of many potential investigators has been hijacked by the much less useful question of “What hit the Pentagon.” This is certainly the favorite subject of intentional disruptors and official story supporters.

Why there probably was NOT (?) a "stand down" order:
explaining the "failure" of the Trillion Dollar Air Force to defend its headquarters

One of the first anomalies that many people noticed immediately after 9/11 was the inexplicable non-reaction of the military air defense system to the hijackings.

It has been standard operating procedures for decades to immediately intercept off course planes that do not respond to communications from air traffic controllers. When the Air Force "scrambles" a fighter plane to intercept, they usually reach the plane in question in minutes. The Air Force plane will then fly next to the non-responsive plane, and rock their wings -- a way to say "follow me" to a nearby airport (if the plane merely has lost its radio equipment). If the intercepted plane refuses to respond, there is a graduated series of actions the Air Force can use -- firing tracer bullets in front of the plane, even shooting it down if it is a threat. This is analogous to police pulling motorists over for having their lights out - every driver in the US knows that when a police car behind them turns on their siren, they are supposed to pull over, just like every pilot knows that when an Air Force fighter plane pulls beside them, they are supposed to follow their orders, too. If the light bulb has merely burned out, the motorist will get a warning, but the police have a graduated series of responses they can employ if the driver is not merely having a mechanical problem (ie. they have just robbed a bank and are driving with the lights off to avoid being seen). ...

was even being tracked for at

least 50 miles from the PEOC.

On the morning of September 11th, 2001, Vice President Dick Cheney was in charge of the military response to the attacks while the President flew around the country in Air Force One. The 9-11 Commission failed to follow up on the nature of and order the Vice President had given which related to American Airlines Flight 77 which hit the Pentagon at 9:36. Many have wondered if these orders were NOT to shoot down Flight 77 as it approached the Pentagon.

We know about this order because on May 23, 2003, then Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta testified before the 9-11 Commission. Secretary Mineta testified that he was present at the Presidential Emergency Operating Center (PEOC) in a bunker below the White House on the morning of September 11th under the direction of Vice President Dick Cheney. During questioning by Co-Chairman Lee Hamilton, Mineta was asked if he was in the PEOC when the Presidential order was given to shoot down suspected hijacked commercial airliners....

Bush Knew of 9/11. Cheney Forced NORAD to Stand Down

The thing that sticks out - Cheney knew about an incoming flight! What were the orders? If it was for a shoot down, why weren't the Pentagon, Capitol building and White House evacuated... What if the orders were to let the incoming aircraft hit?

In giving evidence to the 9/11 Congressional Commission, and despite coercive questioning to the contrary, Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta described how Dick Cheney was informed well in advance that a plane was headed for the Pentagon but consciously failed to issue a shoot-down order. From the testimony:

"There was a young man who had come in and said to the vice president, 'The plane [headed for the Pentagon] is 50 miles out [...] The plane is 30 miles out.' And when it got down to, 'The plane is 10 miles out,' the young man also said to the vice president, 'Do the orders still stand?' And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, 'Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?' Well, at the time I didn't know what all that meant.

The Stand down order is related to new Military Rule changed in June 2001 where the New Rule was that only an Intercepting Plane could shot down a Highjacked or Terrorist Plane by direct orders from the DOD/Pentagon Secretary of Defense ...


They couldn't locate Donald Rumsfeld for more than 2 Hrs on 9/11 ???

That left the door open for any "Stand Down Order" to apply....

Three months before 9/11, Vice President Dick Cheney usurped control of NORAD, and therefore he alone had the power to call for military aircraft on the hijacked airliners on 9/11. He did not exercise that power. On the contrary, the Secretary of Transportation on 9/11, Norman Mineta, testified that Dick Cheney gave a stand-down order to U.S. air defense on 9/11. Three months after 9/11, Cheney relinquished command of NORAD and returned it to military operation. Dick Cheney was the CEO of Halliburton before becoming vice president. Halliburton was awarded no bid contracts to occupy Iraq.

Donald Rumsfeld - announced that the Pentagon could not account for $2.3 trillion dollars on September 10, 2001 – (The Day before 9/11?? We never again heard of those issues again??)

.The next day, the story was conveniently lost in the news of the 9/11 attacks. Rumsfeld also admitted that Flight 93 was shot down, which was obvious given the fact that parts of the plane were found scattered over 8 miles

A number of top pentagon officials and
San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown were warned not to fly into New York on the morning of 9/11. Why didn’t the people on the targeted planes get the same warnings?

The FBI had foreknowledge of the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing and refused to stop it. Their informant wanted to replace the live bomb with a fake, but the FBI then removed him from the case. The informant felt he was being set-up and taped his conversations with the FBI. The bombing killed six people and injured over 1,000.

Governments, including the U.S. government, admit they engage in false flag terror like Operation Northwoods, and the more recent BATF Operation Fast and Furious scandal.
